Stroopwafel Cake

A Dutch classic turned into a cake!

  • Oven


  • 185 g quark
  • 125 g apple sauce
  • 80 g agave syrup
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 6 tbsp margarine (melted)
  • 60 ml milk
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 270 g flour
  • tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 5 stroopwafels (cut into pieces)


  • Preheat the oven at 175 °C.
  • Add to quark, apple sauce, agave syrup, eggs, vanilla extract, margarine and milk to a mixing bowl. Beat it till its a smooth texture.
  • Add the flour, cinnamon, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • Add ⅓ of the mixture to a baking tin, add 1½ stroopwafel on top, add another ⅓ of the mixture and 1½ stroopwafel, and add the last ⅓ of the mixture and 1½ stroopwafel on top.
  • Bake for 40 minutes. Let it cool down for 10 minutes in the baking tin.
